| Wonderful vintage french large chalkware statue of Mary and Child Jesus. The statue is very ornate and detailed with Mary wearing a gilt crown, blue eyes, and draping robes. She is holding the child Jesus who is wearing a gilt crown, blue eyes, and is standing on an earth globe. At the feet of Mary are 2 cherub angels with blue eyes and blonde hair. The base is gilt with a gilt cartouche on the front. The statue is quite large measuring 18 1/2" high and about 6.5" across. The top of Jesus' crown is broken off, his nose and face has some chips, both cherubs' nose are nipped, and there is overall nicks and some loss of paint. It really is a stunning statue found in Brussels, dating to 1940's. It is quite heavy and requires a large box for shipping. | ||||||||||||
