| Very nice antique daguerreotype 1/2 plate of an English gentleman and 2 ladies with refined clothing. The gentleman has a waistcoat on with a bow tie and vest and the woman on the right has a lovely dress on with her hair pinned up and holding a book possibly a bible. The woman on the left has a nice dress on with her hair pinned back holding what I think is perhaps needlwork. The 1/2 plate measures 3.25" x 3.75" and has nice brass (copper?) frame and the back of the case I believe is leather. Sorry, I am not an expert on daguerreotypes, but I thought this one was most interesting. I believe it dates to the 1850's. | ||||||
